NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio -- The recent announcement of Phoenix Theatres opening a Great Northern Mall location overshadowed other news about what’s coming to the North Olmsted retail center.

“We decided to group them all at one time,” Great Northern Mall Marketing And Business Development Manager Dan Crandall said. “We thought it would be easier to promote what’s going on at the mall.

“Some are already open that we didn’t get a chance to promote during the holiday season. And, obviously, we have a couple coming soon that we’re excited to share with everyone.” 

Two recently opened stores are food-related -- Snack King and Bubble House.

Located near JCPenney, Snack King features Asian-labeled snacks and beverages, cookies and candy, plus international chocolates and snack items.

“It just adds to our community here and some great new food options,” Crandall said.

“It’s unique, because it’s like a little mini-market here in the mall. They have grocery store-type items, which you don’t see too many times in the indoor center.”

As for Bubble House, located in the food court, well, kids love their bubble tea.

“Bubble House opened in December and they’ve been crushing it,” Crandall said.

“It’s bubble tea and they also have rolled ice cream, hand-dipped ice cream, shakes and acai. It adds to our great mix of eateries here in the food court.”

When discussing two other mall additions -- Rondinelli Tuxedo and Revive Salon -- Crandall said prom and wedding seasons are near.

Rondinelli Tuxedo opened this week in the Dillard’s wing. Revive Salon is located near JCPenney and Forever 21.

“People can come do their shopping for tuxedo needs here, along with any dresses they need at any of our anchors,” he said.

“And the standalone salon provides hair and nails (services).”

Also expected to open soon are Sbarro and 8th & LA.

Sbarro, located in the former Villa Italian Kitchen food court location, offers original XL New York-style pizza and classic Italian recipes like pasta, stromboli and salad.

8th & LA features on-trend women’s clothing and accessories and will be located in a space next to Bath & Body Works.

As for Phoenix Theatres, Crandall said interest remains high for the opening of the modern movie complex.

“People have been so excited,” he said.

“The construction is going great. They hope to open early summer in time for all of those summer blockbusters.”
